Redistricting Speaker Training. Many of us have heard about redistricting and gerrymandering. Few of us could probably explain what redistricting is, how it is handled in various States, how gerrymandering can impact elections, and options to improve the system in Michigan.

All League members are invited to this educational presentation "Should Politicians Choose Their Voters" developed by our LWV-MI leadership. The LWV-MI is currently engaged in an educational campaign on redistricting in Michigan, hoping to bring to light the essential unfairness of having politicians draw the lines of legislative districts to their own benefit.

Perhaps you would like to be a presenter for the League on this topic and receive educational materials (script and powerpoint) or perhaps you simply want to be more informed on this topic.

Please join us for this important and timely presentation. The census in 2020 will result in a new round of redistricting for the next decade, and now is the time to consider options for change.
