In 2022 leaders from across Michigan came together to form a coalition to work on gun violence prevention. The League of Women Voters of Michigan is a member of this coalition. The goal of End Gun Violence in Michigan (EGVMI) “is to pass common sense gun violence prevention laws in Michigan that will save lives.”
The coalition has declared June as “Silence the Violence Month of Action” and are holding events throughout the state. In Holland, a Wear Orange Event will be held on June 9th from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, in Centennial Park, (250 Central Ave. Holland 49423). For more information: https://www.endgunviolencemi.org/silence
