How can you help with the work of the League?
Volunteer Opportunities with your Local League
All of the work done by the League of Women Voters of the Holland Area is done by volunteers.
Members of the League of Women Voters of the Holland Area are encouraged to consider ways that they can contribute to these local efforts.
- League volunteers moderate our many candidate and issue forums, as well as serving as timekeepers or gathering and sorting questions from the audience. Training is provided.
- League volunteers register voters.
- League volunteers serve as poll observers during elections. Training is provided.
- League volunteers plan informational programs for the League to offer to the public on topics aligned with our mission.
- League volunteers serve as Board members and as members of standing committees.
If you are a League member and are interested in volunteering, use the Contact Us section of this website and someone will follow up with you about opportunities.
Current LWVHA Volunteer Opportunities:
- Videographer – Do you use a video camera? Would you like to learn how? We have a League video camera – and step-by-step instructions on how to use it. We need to videotape some of our events, and you could help. If you are interested or have questions, contact Barb Ferguson (president@lwvholland.org).
- Hospitality Volunteers – Would you like to help with the hospitality aspect of member meetings and events? For example, greeting members, setting up refreshments, etc.? If you are interested in volunteering to help, please contact Lena Del Real (membership@lwvholland.org).
- Observer Corps Members – Local government bodies make decisions that impact our daily lives. Please join us to observe local government meetings (in person or virtually). For more information, contact Don Sheill (don9385@gmail.com).
