Our League will hold a meeting to discuss and respond to questions provided by the LWVUS Judicial Study Committee. At the LWVUS Convention in June 2024 delegates voted to conduct a study of the Federal Judiciary with the goal of adopting a position in June 2025. Each local league is asked to hold a meeting to discuss and respond to questions provided by the Judiciary Study Committee. Resource materials to prepare for the discussion have been provided. Chris Wiggins from the Oakland (MI) Area LWV will present information about Ranked Choice Voting - what it is, how it works and why the Oakland Area League is proposing support for it. The presentation will be via Zoom on Monday, March 10 from 7-8:30p.m. Complete the information below to register. The Zoom link will be sent to you prior to the meeting.

The culminating activity for the Rain of Gold Book Study is an interview with Angel Lopez and Lena Del Real facilitated by Janet DeYoung. Angel and Lena will share their reflections and experiences in relation to the author‘s history and experiences.
You do not need to read the book to participate in the activity.
This "true life" story begins during the Mexican revolution and follows Victor‘s parents‘ journey from Mexico to California.
